Australian
designed and owned, the 12v high Powered Outback Battery Charger developed
by Christie Engineering Pty Ltd is a portable petrol powered charger. The
charger has been designed as a compact, lightweight and very fast and
efficient battery charger for farmers, campers, fishers and generally
all outdoor enthusiasts. This is the smallest Christie Engineering Outback
Battery Charger, which uses a 50cc, 1.8 kw 4 stroke Honda engine accompanied
by a 55 amp Bosch alternator, that has a 2 stage high or low voltage
regulated charge rate by the flick of a switch on the control panel.
All models feature short circuit protection, the unit is also safe only
producing 12 volt DC. A super bright LED readout displays precise charging
units in amps and weighing only 13 kilograms, the Charger must be a
strong consideration for extended camping/fishing trips where large
loads are commonplace. The Charger can supply sufficient charge to a
flat battery in approximately 5 minutes to jump start a car or tractor
and campers will find the unit ideal when flat batteries can charged
up to 55 amps per hour (max). This allows continuous use of portable
fridges, lights etc without the fear of exhausting the power supply
and having to move on from your favourite camp spot.
Features
include:
Environmentally
friendly Honda 50cc 4-stroke engine.
Bosch 55 amp internally regulated alternator, so no overcharging of
batteries occur.
Manual 2 stage voltage charge rate, Low or high charge rate, by the
flick of a switch on the control panel.
Short circuit and high voltage spike protection included.
The super bright LED amp meter display shows precise charging indication,
or our basic model features an LED charge indicator light.
Lightweight and portable, weighing only 13 kg.
High current Leads, 3m long with alligator clamps are supplied with
the chargers.
Ideal uses:
Our
chargers can supply enough charge in as little as 5 minutes to jump
start machinery or vehicles and get moving again.
Campers can run car fridges for 24 hours and charge their batteries
in as little as 1 hour.
12 Volt lighting or other appliances can be powered in emergency situations.
Ideal for the marine industry, backup for small solar powered sites,
emergency services, earthmoving contractors, mobile mechanics, or anyone
working in the outback.
Note, some wet cell deep
cycle batteries will not accept a fast charge & may require trickle
charging for a long period of time. For an efficient system with faster
recharge times AGM or cranking batteries can be used.
Whenever
you’re handling or working with a lead-acid battery, consult your
vehicle and battery owners’ manual for instructions and safety
precautions.

Lead-acid
batteries contain hydrogen-oxygen gases than can be explosive and sulfuric
acid that can cause severe burns.
